Science Club for Girls: A grassroots organization, founded in 1994 by parents in Cambridge, Massachusetts who were concerned with issues of gender equity in math, science, and technology. The clubs give young people an opportunity to get involved in hands-on science activities in a fun, nurturing, interactive environment, an opportunity they might not otherwise receive. The clubs have influenced the lives of hundreds of students. The instructors for the clubs are local scientists.
