The Amigos School welcomes and depends on parent involvement! There are many ways to volunteer at the Amigos School.

Homeroom Parents
Homeroom Parents serve as an important liaison for teachers and families in the classrooms. The responsibilities may include assisting with communication by placing phone calls to parents about important events, assisting teachers in small projects such as coffee hours and field trips and creating class newsletters and phone directories. If you are interested in becoming a homeroom parent, please contact your child’s teacher.

School Council (ASC)
Please visit the page of the School Council for information.

Friends of Amigos (FOA)
Friends of the Amigos School, Inc. (FOA) is a separately incorporated non-profit organization funded and managed by Amigos parents with the purpose of supporting the mission of the Amigos School. FOA is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Contributions to FOA are tax deductible.  FOA fundraises, and in partnership with the Amigos School principal, directs the funds to new and ongoing school projects. Some FOA projects have included day and overnight trips for students, author visits, books for the King/Amigos Library, community events for Amigos families, and student enrichment programs.

Amigos Parent Council
The mission of the Amigos Parent Council (APC) is to foster parent participation in the Amigos School. The APC sponsors school activities, helps members of the community to get to know each other and to work together toward common goals, and enriches their participation in their children's lives in and out of school. Goals include community building, organization of the parents and parent education. Membership in the Council is automatic for every parent or guardian of a child attending the Amigos School. The Amigos Parent Council provides a forum for parents to discuss issues affecting their children and a channel for them to make their views known to the Amigos School Council and to the School's administration. Parents can look to the APC for support on issues that are important to them and for information about how best to pursue those issues within the School or the school system.
Please contact Lillian Rater, Family Liaison for more information at 617-349-6315.
